Part of the Personal Insolvency Act 2012 came into effect on the 1st of March 2013

Certain sections of the Personal Insolvency Act came into effect on the 1st of March 2013. The legislation now allows for the creation of the New Insolvency Service in Ireland. Sections in the act which provide for the regulation of personal insolvency practitioners also came into effect on the 1st of March 2013. The part of the act which deals with Debt Relief Notices, Debt Settlement Arrangements and Personal Insolvency Arrangements has not come into effect as of yet but is expected to commenced in April.
